I work as DevOps engineer at Unum Ireland. My role is to essentially help engineering teams to deploy their software to public with confidence. One thing I love about my role is everyday is a new day with new challenges. I studied computer science in bachelors and data analytics in masters. The reason I want to mentor with The B!G Idea is to mentor children in the early stage of their education which I missed in my school days. Outside of work I love to play badminton, spend time with family and watch Netflix when I am bored.

Hi! I’m a Research Assistant for PRME – a United Nations supported sustainability initiative based in the School of Business at MTU. I’m also an MTU graduate with a background in business, finance, and marketing, so working here feels extra special. I was always intrigued by the buzzword “sustainability,” and this role helped me see how meaningful it truly is. I love that my work creates impact ,from engaging staff and students through sustainability competitions and projects to supporting research, curriculum, and policy development. I also guest lecture as an alumna and enjoy helping students explore sustainable career paths. I want to be a mentor because I didn’t have one during my studies, and now I hope to be that support for someone else; even if it’s just one person, that’s a big win. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, petting cats, photography, and exploring new cities and cultures.

I’ve worked in technology marketing for over 20 years with European teams. I love working with colleagues in different countries and cultures and meeting new people. My first “real” job was in Germany working in the meat industry. Luckily I made the move to technology and haven’t looked back 😀 I love mentoring with The B!G Idea as it’s always amazing to see the creativity and energy from the teams. It’s a timely reminder to me to step away from the usual way to do things for new approaches and ideas. Outside of work I play Padel (a newish interest to me) and I enjoy swimming. I also love cooking - and eating - different foods.

Dolmen Design
Hi I’m Noah, a graduate product designer at Dolmen Design & Innovation. At Dolmen, we turn ideas into real products, taking them from initial sketches to prototypes and ultimately end up with a working product! I love what I do because it lets me channel the same curiosity and creativity I had as a child into my everyday work. Growing up on a farm, I spent countless hours in the workshop making things, fixing machines, and picking up practical skills that shaped how I think and create. That hands-on mindset carried through school and college, where I won awards in student enterprise competitions during Transition Year and again in college. Along the way, I learned from some incredibly talented mentors that shaped who I am today. As a mentor for The Big Idea, I can’t wait to pass on that same guidance to the next generation of young innovators!!
