Why did your team choose to focus on this challenge?As a team, we chose to focus on this challenge to bring awareness to Mental Health and to educate young people in this school. This can help aid them during stressful times for example during their exams like the Leaving cert.
What have you learned about the challenge that you didn't know before?
We learned that Mental Health can cause many problems etc. Can influence people in many ways. We learned that it was a big problem for people of all ages and backgrounds and it can affect everyone in society. I didn't know how bad it was. Me and my group had a bare knowledge of mental health before doing this project but now due to the big idea we have learned more about mental health and think we can handle it and discuss it properly.We know the wide variety of issues and conditions that can impact someone's life connected to mental
Outline the specific problem you would like to solve for your Hero and two or three solutions you think would help.
We can create a Mental Health app to monitor people. We can have presentations and talks to raise awareness and a bake sale to raise money for a Mental Health charity. We have organised for Jigsaw Ireland to come and give a talk to students in our year We can have kahoots toeducate younger students in a more engaging and fun way. We are organizing a Mental Health Week where we can do all these activities.
