Why did your team choose to focus on this challenge?

Our team chose this because we have a lot of people from different countries and we know the hardships of adapting to a new cultural environment.

What have you learned about the challenge that you didn't know before?

Our team has learned that 20% of the population of Ireland were born elsewhere, and that Ireland does in fact try to stay aware of its diversity to include this 20% by building more places of worship for different religions, supporting Pride Parades and other events during Pride month.

Outline the specific problem you would like to solve for your Hero and two or three solutions you think would help.

Our hero is a Japanese girl that wants to be an English teacher in Ireland but she still struggles a bit with English and there are a few people that judge her for this also because Japanese and Irish culture is so different. Therefore, we thought of creating a class for extra help with English to any international student that thinks might need it. Also, it would be fun and educational to create a week or a few days to celebrate diversity in schools so students and teachers can learn about each-other's cultures and customs. Lastly, it would be enlightening to have speakers from other countries come in to school to talk about their experiences in Ireland.
