Why did your team choose to focus on this challenge?We chose to focus on this challenge because we believe that everyone regardless of age, gender or race deserves to feel included in their local community as we believe that everybody is human no matter who you are or where you come from.
What have you learned about the challenge that you didn't know before?
From our research we discovered that in 2022 there were 223 cases of criminal offences involved with racist crime, there was 49 assaults, 112 cases of harassment, 26 cases of serious threat, 95 public order offences and 8 cases of criminal damage.
Outline the specific problem you would like to solve for your Hero and two or three solutions you think would help.
The problem we chose is racism in school. Some solutions we think would help are: our hero could give the class she is in a talk about her experiences coming to Ireland, her ethnic background and how she has faced racism since coming to Ireland, or, she could report to her teacher about the racism she has been facing since coming to Ireland.
