We chose to focus on mental health because it is a very common issue that a lot of teenagers our age deal with, and yet it isn't always taken seriously.
From our research, we discovered that people who struggle with binge eating disorders usually have forbidden foods. Forbidden foods are foods that they restrict themselves from eating, but these can tend to lead to cravings and then sudden binging sessions.
The problem we are trying to solve for our hero is their diet and binging, and trying to find a way for them to control it better. We wanna do this by working on building a keto diet, as it doesn’t rely as much on reducing food, rather reducing carbs moderately so that they don’t have to suddenly adapt to eating less than they do, and can work on losing weight in the process. This will slowly give them back control over what they eat so they can reach their goal. Another solution we thought of is a service that could slowly build up to foods that people with binge eating disorders restrict themselves from, because often you will see people with BED restricting themselves from certain foods resulting in cravings and overeating. This service can suggest ways to include small portions of certain foods, building it up to larger portions so that the person with BED can realize it’s harmless. It could be an app or website.
