Our Idea

Why did your team choose to focus on this challenge?

Our group has a strong interest in languages and have many friends and friends with family that came to Ireland with no english that had to learn from scratch.

What have you learned about the challenge that you didn't know before?

One of our team members has two parents who were born in Poland and had to learn english and they found it extremely difficult to communicate to people at the bank, post office, shops etc. making this a very important challenge to over come for many indivduals.

I’ve learned from the empathy map that trying to fit in insided a new country can really effect mental health. After asking people who did learn english we found that there is alot more people that had to learn english than we thought.
