Why did your team choose to focus on this challenge?While there is some awareness on this topic, some communities are not being talked about enough and are being left behind. Our group of friends is very diverse and we are constantly exposed to a variety of people and cultures.
What have you learned about the challenge that you didn't know before?
From books/articles/websites/tv shows - characters such as Abed from community and Sara from Young royals show how autistic people may behave and how they are treated. Conducting interviews with friends and family - From our interviews we found out that many people think that people are not all treated equally currently but think that they all should be treated the same. Discussions with your teammates - We all think that people should be treated equally and hope to be able to improve the lives of people with disabilities and people who are currently discriminated against.
Outline the specific problem you would like to solve for your Hero and two or three solutions you think would help.
Our specific problem is helping those with disabilities. The main idea that we have come up with is an app helping those with disabilities by allowing users to rate places based on accessibility, e.g wheelchair accessibility.
