Our Idea

Why as a team did you choose to focus on this challenge?

We chose mental health because we wanted to learn more about the issues surrounding it and try in anyway we could to help.

What do you know now about the challenge that you didn't know before?

how much it can affect peoples school work and job , as it may cause problems or be the blossom of stress

What have you learnt about your Hero?

Our hero deals with many challenges in her day to day and we found out what helps her deal with them and what is it that others do to help her. Does it help? can we replicate it?Our goal is to help calm down our users in times of anxiety and to help them learn ways of managing and compartmentalising their stress to adapt to future situations that may cause them to be anxious. How will we do this? One of the ways we aim to remedy the users stress is breathing exercises included in the app. This will help them focus on their breeding, slow their heart rate and therefore help them to think clearer in times of stress. This will help them adjust to stressful situations and gain a new skill of managing emotions that try to overcome them. Secondly we will include a ‘Good News Column’ This will highlight the week's good news from around the world and helps show our app users good deeds that they can replicate to brighten someone's day. Karma is real and what our users put out into the world will circle back to them making their environment a better and safer place.

If you could improve one thing for your Hero what would that be?

do you believe an app would work better if we focused on one mental heath issue or multiple?

Do you have any ideas for a potential solution? No matter how raw, share them with your Mentors for feedback.

Ask your Mentor anything …. This is a chance to ask your Mentors a direct question relating to your Big Idea.

What is the most important thing you have learnt so far?

My favourite activity we did was the breakdown of how to make toast. This simple activity made us think outside the box and prepared us for the problem solving skills needed for the big idea project.

What would you like to learn more about?

other peoples solutions from past years

The Big Idea would be even better if ...

we spent more time mapping out the ideas for our solution rather than have it be spent on the hero
