Why as a team did you choose to focus on this challenge?

We feel like this topic isn't talked about that much. You hear a lot about all the other topics, a lot more than this one. We decided to focus on this area to try to put more information out there about all areas included in the topic.

What do you know now about the challenge that you didn't know before?

During the challenge we found out more about what different types of items could be included into the topic of our choice. We also learned more about different types of disabilities and what items we could include that could help the people struggling with these items feel more included and feel accepted for who they are no matter their age, race, sex, disabilities etc.

What have you learnt about your Hero?

There are many different challenges that our hero faces including not being accepted for who they are or what they have, being made fun of, being talked about behind their back and many more. There are many ways we thought about that we could have considered for our topic but we feel like our choice was what best would help it.

If you could improve one thing for your Hero what would that be?

If we could change anything for our hero we would try to help them have a safe place where they feel accepted and included for who they are or what they struggle with. We would hope to help fix the bullying they could get but that was really hard to try to take into consideration and fix.

Do you have any ideas for a potential solution? No matter how raw, share them with your Mentors for feedback.

The solution we were thinking of is to make a big building where we would split into rooms and have a place where different communities can go and feel like they are not alone after the building was made. We would invite people who would want to be in these support groups to come in and design the rooms. We would also hope to have 2/3 sensory rooms that people can go to if they feel overwhelmed and hope to have an indoor play area that people can play on no matter the age.

Ask your Mentor anything …. This is a chance to ask your Mentors a direct question relating to your Big Idea.

No we don't have any questions
